MAY 5, 2024 - IMPORTANT NEWS - JUNIOR COCHIN CASH PROGRAM
At our April 28th Board of Directors meeting, the Board elected to take the following action regarding our Junior Cochin Cash Program:
COCHINS INTERNATIONAL JUNIOR COCHIN CASH PROGRAM
By Rich Barczewski
Cochins International is proud to have a very active Junior Program which is run by Lacy Michall and recently the board increased funding to provide the necessary funds to keep the program running. One issue that has been a problem for the club is the Cochin Cash program that was originally started and supposed to have been based on items donated to the program; however, for various reasons, that has never come to pass as proposed. The cash was awarded; however, donated items were not acquired to make the program go. Because of this, the board decided to stop awarding Cochin Cash as of June 1, 2024. Additionally, individuals who currently have Cochin Cash will be able to spend their Cochin Cash for up to 50 percent of the cost of any items currently in our Cochin Merchandise Store up until May 31, 2025. Individuals redeeming the Cochin Cash will have to pay the shipping cost and 50% of the list price of the items they purchase, but after May 31, 2025, the program will stop.
It should be noted that the Junior program currently awards a personalized jacket to any member who achieves Master Exhibitor Status. They also are awarded Belt Buckles for Top Exhibitor in Bantam and Large fowl based on the number of points accumulated in the program over the course of a year. Additionally, they are also awarded Best of Breed and Reserve of Breed pins for and BB and RB won at the shows.
We regret having to make this decision, but we will continue to look for ways to enhance and grow our Junior Program. Unfortunately, this specific part of the program has not been functioning as designed.
